GOSH： Please stop complaining

Just now I was having lunch at the pantry... heard these two women talking about "English"... it was actually about English accent. They complained about Indian accents. They found it hard to understand and get what the Indians are talking about.

it is true that the Indians do possess very strong accent. However, there is nothing to complain about. I used to complain on this before and I realized that I was wrong. It was not the problem of their accent. The problem lies on I had very poor listening. I could not understand the good English coming from a strong accent.

On the other hand, I really wanted to ask those two women. How about your accent? I have not heard a single English word coming out from your gentle mouth. Do you think your English is better understood than the Indian ones? I am not sure how good your English is. Hope it is great! Otherwise, you are just making yourself lose face because you cannot even speak good English, how can you comment about other's English then. If your pieces of rotten English can be understood by other native English speakers and good English speakers, it is not because you speaker better but rather the listeners can listen and understand better.

After all, in communication, accent problem does occur. The reason should not all be pushed to the speakers. The listeners should have at least 50% of the responsibility to check on their listening. If they have heard so many different accents already, how could they just simple do not understand one? I know some accents are very strong and might take a little longer to get used to and get comfortable with. Nevertheless, it is a matter of whether you want to listen or not.

I picked up (luckily, it was through. Sometimes, it doesn't)
"there is an express mail for you!", the receptionist said, "please trouble you to come down and pick it up. "

I went down!

there was this article on Fortune describing the eight signs that indicates you need to change a job.

basically they are:
"

1. You don't fit in. Your values don't match the company's. If your colleagues are "dishonest and focused on getting ahead regardless of legal or moral barriers," Bayer says, it's time to quit before an Enron-style scandal sinks the ship.

2. Your boss doesn't like you and you don't like him or her. If your boss never asks your opinion, and never wants to chat or have lunch with you, and if you disagree with her agenda and dislike her style, your days are numbered. Adds Bayer: "If you've ever done something that undermined your boss, you might as well get out now."

3. Your peers don't like you. Feeling isolated, gossiped about, and excluded from the inner workings of the organization is a very bad sign, as is feeling that you're not part of the team and wouldn't socialize with your colleagues even if they asked you.

4. You don't get assignments that demonstrate the full range of your abilities. "Watching all the good assignments go to others, while you're given the ones that play to your weaknesses or are beneath your professional level, should tell you something," says Bayer. Likewise, if it seems the boss doesn't trust your judgment, you're in trouble.

I went to dinner with a friend of mine tonight who works at one of the major internet portal companies. We talked about everything from airplanes to how hard it is to hire in Silicon Valley. One topic we touched on was how hard it is to keep up with the latest and greatest technologies coming out of the tech industry.

So many new, very cool products are launching these days that it is *really* hard to keep track of it all. I mentioned how I probably spend at least an hour or so each day just combing through various blogs, trying to keep on top of everything. So which blogs are my daily reads?

Here's a list of what appears in my RSS reader each day:

AppleInsider - that Steve Jobs just keeps on innovating
Autoblog - planes, cars, they all go fast and I can't stop reading about them

Consumerist - ok, sometimes it's really interesting to see what scam these guys have uncovered

GigaOM - Om and Mark were the first two folks to blog on meebo...ever! Om's blog has really good, deep industry insight

SocketSite - real estate in SF - it's so expensive, why even bother?

What's Web 2.0 to me?

åI think the first time I heard this term was last year while I just arrived at Silicon Valley. In fact, the hype was started way before that. I think by now the topic has been discussed about 18 months. It was 8 months after it was started that I got involved and participated in the discussion.

Back then, the concept of Web 2.0 is very blur. I could not picture and understand what’s Web 2.0. I thought I had not even experienced what Web 1.0 was about. How funny was my thought! As more and more start-up started working on it, the blurr concept became clearer and clearer. It seems to me that it is not longer a concept but indeed some technologies - the Web 2.0 technologies.

To me, Web 2.0 focuses on user engagement and experiences on the web. it is exemplifed by the visual effect of the website done by the web 2.0 companies. that’s just the appearance. There are many layers of technologies that transformed the framework, applications and features. One very good example is the emerging programing languages, like Ruby on Rails.

In my opinion, Web 2.0 technologies have gone into the stage where vast adoption will take place. Just like 7 years ago, every company and each individual wanted a website. (Maybe that’s Web 1.o). Now companies started looking at the technology innovations to help them solve their problem.

Which company will catch the wave and lead the innovation? it is very hard to tell and difficult to say. many are doing it but few are doing the right things for the companies or individual users. there are cool things everyday…. however, which cool thing will keep you cool all the time is still a question mark!

All the best to the battle… it seems a long way… and it can be short if the one appeared.

feeling lost

i felt really lost yesterday...
i went to cut my hair... instructions given to the hairdresser was not clear...
ended up in a hairstyle i dont really like.
went to buy food to cook...

ended up buying lots of snacks and ice-cream...

i wanted to cook meat....
ended up forgetting it...

wanted to clean the house thoroughly
ended up working on the surfaces only...
i felt really lost...
what i was doing... what should do!

i think it's a phase that i have to go through. things are changing.
it's weird... i guess....

oh btw, one of my classmate passed away... somebody said it's suicide and i could not believe it.

so strange!!!

Take-aways at AAMA about China

1. practical experiences working in China
- David needs some work experience in China: internship? part-time?

2. Behave like a REAL Chinese
- David has been keeping it up! keep the good job up! Friends, esp Chinese, please point out to David if he does

something stupid, k?

3. Overseas experiences are good BUT those are only assets belong to you which are not previlliges.
- David should take overseas experiences as enriching, fun, learning and happy as possible. World is never that

small!

4. Groom management team from stretch (starting company in China) [professional managers are not good to be put

above people suddenly]
- David should obtain some skills in terms of management but not to be a professinonal manager. i don think that

could be a career. sounds like VC… I’d rather join VC area to help companies… that’s more professional than

professional manager…

5. everyone knows about how much colleauges are earning in China
- so don’t try to hide it. where there is a will, there is a way. that happens all the time in China. Only the

government has done something to cover certain history up… still we could find it out. paper can never cover up

fire.

6. Work with government officials to get to know the rules, so you might be able get around them.
- really practical… believe it or not, it’s all about connections and relationships… wherever you go and

whatever you do! it is a matter of how people look at it and how much is it? hmmmmm…. think about it

7.Understand the local cultures even within China.
- this is really a good point to talk about. In a big country, the cultures are different. certainly, there are

similarities. however, the focus shall be put on Differences.

8.Build the organizational trust
- it takes a whole lot to build trust in human relationship. if you look at people as individual cells, dont you

think that the organ that the cells made up shall not build its “organic” trust? it’s a bottom-up perspective…

9. Have local management leader is really important.
- do not treat it like a branch but an ‘entity’ that operates independently and colaborate with headquarters and

other offices… example? google and youtube…

10. Plan to go back to China? Or NOT?
- David has not changed his mind not going back to China yet. I don’t think he will. However, he will face a lot of

challenges. He will face it and deal with them well.

exmaple for you

there was this company set up their office in China. A team has been recruited and built up, primarily engineers

and support people. Local management team has yet to be built. After some time, a manager was hired with 1M salary. OVernight, the engineers under the managers stopped working.

why? the engineers are the ones working and now someone is hired with so much higher salary to oversee them. they are not happy about it.

I am not sure whether I shall put down this!
I just feel that it was really something great!

I watched three movies in a roll…..

1. 300
2. Dead Silence
3. Zodiac

I like the first one the best…

2nd one is a horror movie… it was pretty good about doll story… the ending was really surprising that Jamie died… coz he screamed finally…i thought he could stand till last… apparently, something really shocking happened… it was forgivable…

3rd one is a true case and yet a mystery… it’s good to see the movie that was shot in the area nearby… however, due to the nature of the story, it is also kinda scary that it is just right around us. so… be careful when do things…

taking a step back would not lose your ego, pride or even respect. take a look at it a different way… esp looking at it positively… they people doing those bad things are just so pathetic… they cannot realize the love, the joy of being on the bright side. there is no fear in daily life of what’s goanna happen.

300 has a great story to tell… and if like all those kind a ancient scenes… fights for pride and their nation… great nationalists… great warriors and great father, husband and son

300 did not give pursian a good name out of it… i kinda doubt whether the ancient pursian did look like that or behaved like that before. i am on the bright side… though they are strong; they dont have to be the lord for everyone nearyby. what’s the point?

forming partnership and alliance is more important than killing each other. make the strong stronger…

back then, strategic thinking were always applicable.

alright…it’s time to take a nap… see you tml

hmm...hope i did not do anything bad to her...

She's really a strong women...
just migrated from china to US...
works in a restaurant with very little pay...

i respect her... as she really has a good and positive attitude towards life...

that's why... she did not stay in more comfortable chinese place... where she can live comfortably speaking chinese... she chose to challenge her...
working in a better enviroment... where customers speak english... it's a force to drive her to learn and learn and learn...

went to the restaurant she worked at. It was decent... very good environment. the manager is really very good... to be honest... superb... he's attentative and funny!
he is the person that drives the entire business.

but i sensed there was a little bit of insecurity when i left... when the hena asked about her... friends... yup... i tole her to truth that it was only my second time meeting her... and afterwards, they had a little bit of conversation... after that... i felt that her face turned to an anxious one... i was concerned that i did not bring her any trouble... i was trying to help her. gosh!!! hopefully, i was just too sensitive!!!
i will feel really bad if anything happened to her!
gosh!

I drive in California...
it's definitely a beautiful and great place...
but driving here might not be the best!
in fact, i think it's horrible...
people speed all the time...
they do not signal when making turns and changing lanes...
they assume that they are the BOSS on the road... the others are "stupid"

from my observation some time ago, i saw many people are on the phone while driving...
this is not a discrimination. but i saw a lot of female drivers on the phone all the time...
saying the women driving while phoning, the men here are not that great either...
you know what they do?
they READ while driving... it's not just once or twice..
the first time i saw it at HW92 West... on San Mateo Bridge... the guy was driving ALONE reading a BOOK at minimum 75 mph! he was driving a big SUV... gosh!

the other time, it was a Lexus owner... maroon color...
he was reading some documents while on the carpool lane... yes... ALONE... it was in the morning during the post rush hour time... about 9 plus... gosh... he was easily at 80 mph... he was also taking over other people...

yup... their driving skills might be good... but all the cars were auto-transmission... i bet they could even drive a manual car!!! ha ha....

i have not been updating you for a long time.
in fact, there was no post at all during feburary.
i felt that it was not really good…
what I have done in feburary?
i traveled a little more..
i went to half moon bay twice by myself.
i went to Lake Tahoe to ski. it was really fun and i love it… going there again in mid march… how’s that? =p
work load has been getting heavier… hope i should stop “slacking” and work harder… i really wanna do a good job. i have been doing fine and i think i can do much better.
I like to talk to people… typing is really bad..
i still like my idea of voolog… it’s good. i love it. using voice to blog directly. people have to pay for that kinda of services. i guess. how’s that?
how time flies… it’s march already… the term is ending soon and i have loads of things due …
like internship report and stuff like that… it’s crazy.i’ll survive for sure. i did pretty okay for my STP and i think i will work on it again and again. i’d love to continue to working on it and make it better. =p

This is really a brother u know...
same birthday... so many similarities...
but he does not like MUTTON... WTH...
mutton is one of the most delicious food u know??? I even drank goat milk before...
it's true that it is smelly... but to me, i only feel that the goat milk is very " smelly"... it just has a very strong smell... not smelly at al...

wah...i think the two of us for the 7-day delivery... we are too used to the VAN already and just now he was sending me back driving his family toyota... it was so quiet and it ws so smooth and I could not feel that he was driving at 100 Km/h.... but i could feel the acceleration from the van... i guess probably the reason is that manual van has better and short pick-up time. so the sudden change would make the brain feel the acceleration!!!

wow... three cheers for the two of us... we have finally finished the delivery... 231 deliveries in 7 days... we drove almost 1400 km... that was the significant sign of doing a good job... lol...

hopefully when Kim reurns the van tomorrow, the boss will not make any noise!!!

A good deliveryman?

Today is the last day of the gown delivery.I am so happy that the delivery is coming to the end as the self-collection will end tomorrow as scheduled.
The mistakes have been corrected but there were new mistakes.
The mistake that we made last year was not enough planning… too much spontaneous planning without prior preparation to allow such on-the-spot planning work. to be specific, something bad about it is that… it was really waste time and efforts. the mistake is we wanted to deliver to the graduate without the gown on the van. How stupid it was and we did not check before we actually made the phone call or we headed there.
it was so embarrassing for us to tell the graduate who has been waiting that we did not have the gown with us. that’s stupid… i think the reason is that we were too ambitious and too hot-headed… just wanted to finish asap instead of finishing it smoothly with a good planning..
I had great time with my other friends delivering last year. though it was tiring, it was really memorable to me. WH, YW, JS and A…
this year… i am working with my bro, Kim…. he is definitely a good driver… since there are only two of us working, we definitely got to know each other better… there was time when we were stressed and rushing to catch our schedule. there was alsom some time when we could enjoy our dinner or lunch. we have been improving since day one.
Day one: started around 1pm schduled at 12pm. we were late for more than an hour. we managed to deliver thirty-three with everage delay of 30-60 minutes
Day two: started around 1045am sechuled at 10am. we were late again but not that long. we managed to deliver forty-one withe everage delay of 30-45 minutes
Day three:we started a bit later and managed to deliver thirty-nine.
Day four: we started late but we could catch up with the scheduled slots. another forty-one deliveries. we were on schedule but it was the last few minutes of the two-hour slot
Day five: we started on time. however, we had to run from east to west and west to east again. due to so much travelling time required and also we got to take a break from that we ended about 8.30pm. we have broken the record. thirty gown were delivered and we did not really rush because we were all on schedule.
Day six: yesterday we started on time and we followed OUR schedule closely. I felt so good that we could end it late but NO unsuccessful delivery for the day!!! it was another record broken. wow…so cool…
Delivering is indeed a tough job. but from the short period we are doing… we could see that our planning works and our results are clear and observable. this is not just trade time for money… this is real experience… this is a project that we started… we planned and we completed.

Specially thank the understanding parents and graduates!I felt wormth when they offered us a drink or gave us a drink.I felt it was worth of doing it when I heard the sincere” thank you” from them.
it was tough… but it was a good training… because there were a lot of on-the-spot training. see how do we deal the urgent situation…

wow... 17 June was a great day... it was one of the rare ocassions that I felt that i am in holiday...
after that i really wanted to walk along Orchard Road with the vest and then take Benz cab from Cenileisure.
muahaha...

i was lucky.. while walking towards PS... there was a Benz Cab coming... he wanted to pick up a passenger but was not successful... so i took it... his name is Steven... i chatted with him... he commented that I looked SMART... i believe so... it was such a nice tuxedo suite... witht the nice vest... plus the good pants and shoes... ha ha...

anyway... the whole things started with Sing Hui's birthday...
i was supposed to meet my XR at Boon Lay... but then... a lot of craps happened... i could not find the present that i wanted to give... my belt suddenly broke.... it was hot and i was perspiring a lot...
finally i dressed up the set of tuxedo and set off... not that bad... i could get a cab easily... but the drive was really no good... he travlled around that WWA area for around 5 minutes... and his understanding is poor... gosh!!! wasted quite some money.... the security guard told him that it's the 2nd BLOCK... then he drove out of the condo and continued looking for the 2nd UNIT...

nonetheless, i reached... i was one of the only two guys wearing tuxedo... i think we have expected... XR's has got tails... lol... it was nice... and I looked so good on the tuxedo and everybody started looking at us... yup... we are over dressed... Pam was in her 'bridal' gown... of coz the birthday girl was wearing gown and she looked very nice on the gown...white..=)

then we ate and took a lot of pictures... i dont really know a lot of people there except my classmates and one or two other people... honestly speaking... i cannot even name all my classmates... haiz...

yup... the food was great... and there were a lot of fruits... i liked the stewed chicken...curry chikcen and potatoes... hmm... how to say... liked everything ??/ mua h aha ....

oh... you know what we did after the party???
h aha... an extension outing from there...
we went to THE C A T H A Y to catch S I L E N T H I L L...
wow... the movie is quite freaky i think... it was not scary... quite bloody... strange.... mysterious too...
then i came back from there...

wow... looking forward to the next one...

Yesterday was really a tiring day...

i was working but not at my station... I went to the magazine printing company to settle the adjustment of the softcopy of the magazine...

it was really nice of li li and tian wen that they helped me so much..

i went there around 10.30am near changi... i came back around 10.30 pm... i spent almost 10 hours there...

it was really interesting to get to know the people... they are under graphic department.. what they do is to receive the design from the customers... check the requirement and do some necessary adjustment... it was really an interesting job...

i feel proud of them... because you can see all those i weekly... 8 weekly or some other fantastic magazine.... yes... the designers are good... but more importantly the group of these graphic people are really crucial... if they happen not to like one page, they are powerful enough to distroy it.... u see???

dont always give the credits to the person on top... yes they deserve it as a leader... so what??

there are more people down there work day and night to get the job done... i believe their contribution is as much as the leader... this is in terms of contribution... but the world is never fair... they dont get so much pay as the leader... as we can under stand that... the leader has much greater responsibilities than those who are under him or her...

all those intangibles that make the difference of the pay!!!

so... dont feel unfair if you think that other people dont deserve it... you shall really go and check what the situatino is about and then decide on what you are gonna say...

i feel that the graphic people deserve a high pay because... they are crucial.. it is a very technical kinda job... it is time-consuming... they are the solution providers... they create beauty for the prints...

yup.... look at the world around you... can you have something that is not nicely printed... (except your own notes and all those...lol)...

true... printing .... the area that i just got to know... and found it so Different!!!

real holiday

ha ha ha.. i felt the second time that i am in school holiday....
my 2nd official outing....

it was at s e t t l e r s... wow... the place looked not bad... surprisingly i met my jc classmate...wanwei...
did not know that she's now in poly... hmm... as long as she feels happy... it should be the right way... hope she can do well and get into uni too!!!

hee hee... oh... why did i mention about her... coz she works there.... as simple as that.. ha ha....
coz i am looking forward to seeing some of my classmates join the camps... ha ha....

mr zhou gave us a treat... it's 3 times 50 bux those much... ha ha... thanks to his treat... i could get relaxed... that is why i was too excited in the games... and i did a lot stupid things... anyway... i could let myself be MY way... ha ha... dont care about the rest... actually i took the rest of the people there NEVER existed... lol...

cool... it was very relaxing.. i love it... i got a VIP card some more... so i can treat other people then... good good... yes... the magazine treat will be there..!!!

shoes and some thoughts

ho ho... harvest... harvets...

you should see the weird looks from the passer-by toward me.... or i was just being too sensitive about... lol...

yes... i was carrying a big bag of 3 pairs of shoes and another small bag with one pair of shoes...

i looked like some one likes to shop and crazy about shopping... haiz... the wrong impressino again...
i do love shopping but buying is very different... this time aournd it is all about buying...

i went to Delta house to meet c r e a t i v e studio... and i was surprised after that conversation with cheryl that the studio is more on the niche market... more on commercial shoots.... it is one of the few or the only one that i have dealt with which is doing something special... it was cool...

after the long meeting... i got out the building... it looked like a ware house to me... seriously... ha ha... yes.. it is really some kinda ware house.. o t s u k a warehouse was there? i am not sure... but there is o t s u k a warehouse sales... it is not just the only brand but also r e n o m a and a something... those are 79 bucks per pair and their shoes look really nice... anyway, i was more interested in getting cheap ones coz i am not at the stage when i can spend freely... so... i was buying cheap and good quality shoes... h u s h p u p p i e s , l o b o, b e n s h o p... i bought 4 pairs in the end... and spent about 87.50 bucks... i felt that it was great... i was really happy about it... those kinda of sales are what i always look for ... i found one finally... it is much better than those having sales at E X P O!!! gosh... their brands like... no one knows... the quality is like.. collapsing...
but these ones wow... good!!! seriously... and i told about it to a few friends and even on my msn nick... it is attractive.. however the dealer seem not interested in do big publicity.. anyway, i feel like doing free pub for them... such a good opportunities i feel my final year friends can give a try... u can find almost every kinda shoes for various occasions... NO SPORTS shoes there... it is more like casual and dressing shoes...

good deal done... i was happy!!! so gonna show case what i bought today by wear it... the l o b o shoe... it looked classy! anyway... that is beside the point... lol...

really almost got heart attack

oh... you know what happened???

i almost got a 'heart attack'... that was so close...

i was rushing to meet one ad~er coz i was worried that i would be late...
indeed i was late and something stroke me!!!

i ALMOST lost my WALLet... what was so CLOSE!!!

k... the story goes like this!

I was rushing from City Hall to River Valley Point... i intended to take a cab as I had to catch a meeting which was in 20 minutes' time. so i just called siver/ line and got a cab... 8/0/1/4 it was so quick although getting through the call centre was not easy... the cab came in TWO minutes... or even shorter... wow... i was so happy...

then i realised today was a public holiday eve and the traffic was so bad... i had no choice and sit quietly in the cab and reaching the place slowly...
after getting in, i opened my bag and checked my file about the address coz i was not sure whether i remembered correctly... i should have believed myself that i was correct... i think becoz of the checking.. my wallet somehow some time then slipped off my side pocket.... my big note was not in my wallet... and i just gave the driver (got to know his name in the later story) the bigh note... luckily he had change... so i did not touch my wallet coz i thought it was safely sleeping in my pocket... some more i did not put the change in my wallet... haiz it could be a check on whether my wallet is in my pocket

[lesson #1: should put the money in the wallet before alighting a cab... this is to help you check that your wallet is around and not left on the cab]

i felt that my pocket a bit empty and i wanted to stop the cab... but due to the heavy traffic... the cab left in a hurry... i double-checked the my pocket that it did not contain my wallet... checked a few times.. i was sure it was gone... then i called Gary to see whether i left it on the table where we were having dinner... however, i somehow clearly remember that i did not touch my wallet having bought my food. it was clear that i did not use my wallet after that... so i just call silver/ line that i left my wallet on the cab... their systme is to use walkie-talkie and the driver can reply istantly... which now approves the efficiency of that system... dont know how other cab company handles this !~!!! call mobilephone??? hmm... would it be more efficient??? coz for such case the time is really important... 5 seconds can really make a difference... haiz.. what if the next passenger took it? then the driver has no way of chekcing whether the wallet was left on the cab... luckily i called early and it was found...

[lesson#2: call immediately after you realise or find that your lost wallet might be on the taxi... this is to assure the if it were really the case, you could still get back your wallet]

then the call cetre lady kept my phone number to the driver... saying he would call me to arrange a pick up session... however, i think that i needed to come back to school... so i requested that the driver can pick me up at the place where i alighted and return my wallet and send me back to my hostel.
yes... it happened as planned... the driver was really nice.. i was chatting with him on the way... i wanted to buy him a dinner coz he had not eaten yet by that time... it was already 9pm i think??? but he said it was fine... so he continued driving.. i got his name, Edmon and his mobile phone to see whether in the future i can use his cab again in order to thank him.. the fare back was 10.50 and i gave him 12 to let him have a drink with the limited amount i can give him. hopefully he would make some money today and have a good rest!!!

thank goodness i can always meet nice people... i am so grateful that the Edmon was so honest... it is easy to find such honest people in singapore I THINk than my city!!!

[lesson #3: get a cab driver as a friend and use it most of the time; so no need to worry that you may leave things behind. coz u can just call directly!]
haiz...

now i am back and feel very grateful and thankful!!!

i shall do good!!! it indeed makes other people feel alive and happy like what i am feeling now...
and also be appreciative... nobody is obligated to do so such things and really should appreciate what other people have done, do and will do for me!!!

yup... my 0506 sem2 exams has come to the end... however i am not in the mood to enjoy my holiday...
the holiday is defined as no need to focus on study...
in fact i've gotten a lot of things to do....
sigh!

but i am happy that i am busy.... so that i will figure out what is more important than something else in my life... it is not easy to figure out certain things in life... i've gotta spend time and put efforts in to it...

dont know what i was thinking...

i started to plan what kind of life i want to lead....

hmm... too late??? dont think so... it is not that i did not plan... just that i had too many wonderful dreams and dont know what are the ones i was really looking forward to...

too early??? i dont think it is very early... coz i am at my 21 going to be 22.... it is a good time to make a decision on something and go for it...

i was really unsure about what have been doing... and i am at the stage that i know that i dont know... in other works... i am not clear about anything but one thing - that i am clear that i am not clear about the rest....

it is a good move... i am growing... getting mature.... or more mature... i started to use my brain before i act... yup... the hot-headed me is disappearing???? nope... that is my traits... i will never lose it... at least i would try...

thick faced??? i dontk now.... however, i think it is really a good trait though.... nothing can be so real than having a thick-skin... but thick-skin is not that kind... of really extreme kinda.... it's just a thick-skinned spirit... why not??? i want to be daring.... nothing to be ashamed of....

i believe in a lot of things that a lot of people have abandonded them... anyway.... since they have arleady abandoned... they wont care about it...

just talking about studying in YIH... not reserving seat is good... but reserving seat is nothing to be ashamed... of coz... i reserve only when i needed... my take is that... it is occupied... just temporarily... i am away... just like msn... can you restrict me not logging if i dont talk???

of coz i dont like those people who reserve for other people in the end... both of them never turn up the whole day... if you have already planned... what things will be so important that both of you cannot come??? surely, a good excuse will be forgiven... unfortunately... very seldom...

do you know how i came across blogging???

ha ha... coz i own my own website... i design my own website and share good things and my stories with myfriends....

i keept a HTML called :diary:... once in a while i would go and update it like writing my diary...
it was interesting... just that since it is a hmtl format... the file getting larger and larger... it became so cumbersome for me to shift the entries down... add new links etc...

then i started to get to know blogging... actually i did not know the existence of blog at that time at all... and i forgot how i came across blogging... however, i discovered blogger.com... found it so fitted my needs... i started blogging... actually blogging at that time nov 2004 has already been popular in western countries.... asia a bit slow... in general... i believe korean and japan had that long time ago...

anyway... i started chatting with this blog... it was so nice to talk to my bloggie... whatever i say ... it listens... there was response also... of coz seemingly...

it's very emotional kinda of stuff... ha ha... since then i felt in love with blogging... yeah!!!

time flies just like it always does... it's getting one and half years time already after i started this blog... blogger is popular... it hosts so many people's blogs.... thanks to its existence... i would not have enjoyed myself so much with my dear bloggie...

now msn space is getting HOT...u know i was a person like to catch the trend and even get things before the trend peak actual came.... yup... at the some time later... since i always used LATEST msn messenger.. some leaked versions alos... :dont tell you how i got it: it can be easily found if you follow MSN messengers... there are so many messenger related website... then i met msgplus... another good tool... love it....

now i am using windows live messenger and msgplus live is still underdevelopment... so... cannot enjoy its excellent functions... patchou... thank you!

yup.. back to my topics on my bloggie... yup i like to catach the trend so i found msn space... and started one there... actually Two... one chinese... one english... why two? the reasons are very simple...to practise english at the english blog and review my chinese at the chinese blog...
yup...
msn space was linked to msn messenger in the late 7.* versions and i was lazy to visit my bloggie and i was more active at the other side... i guess ever after that... my bloggie became very very lonely.... did you????

now i feel that i shall come back... coz... i started here.... i wanna continue...

back

just came back from YIH a while ago...

feel that my room temperature is just so moderate... ha ha...

i almost became a frozen STAR inside YIH study room... lol...

sigh... there were still many people working hard when i left ard 5.30 am...

i was left coz i feel that i shall take a rest though i am not exhausted at all...

my bio-clock is already adjusted to TWO-day ONE sleep mode...

gosh... it is a bit hard to change not... i am perfectly fine now... my eyes are less dry now compared to a few days ago... but i am hungry again... yup... i think i am putting on a lot of weight..

started to listen to songs againt from yesterday....

to update on my study status... i finished my Feedback control system Help SHeet... hooray!!!

although i put all the Concepts in... however, i feel that i shall include more examples... !!!

dont know what i shall do... i should really stay more focused... i shall work on the design problem again... a bit more at least...

4 problems in total... 2 from part 1 and 2 from part 2.

for the 1st part... block diagram algebra and root locus will definitely come out... i am not sure the level of difficulty on the block diagram algebra and how detailed the problem on root locus plot would be....

another problem will definitely on system response... 2nd order... like... the maxiume overshoot percentage... rising time... settling time etc... btw, another focus is OBtaining transfer function... the physical modelling... and laplace transform... however, these two were highly tested in the test... so i am not sure how much it would be tested....

i am very clear about the first part of the course i think... though my test was a bit messy... got help from my friends... at least the result is delighting... Full marks... ah ah..... however, for the 2nd part of the course... a lot of things are very unsure... the lecturer refuses to give any answers... he speaks very SLOWLy... heard that it's his first time teaching this course... hope it would be good... still prefer prof poo.... he is nice... also give the solutions of past year papers... on his part at least... it is really helpful in getting a holistic view on the topics... anyway...

坚持与放弃

刚刚看到了一个朋友的msn tag “放弃也就是一秒钟的事儿…"

这让我有了挺深的印象哦！

是哦，放弃绝对是一秒钟的事儿哦！

反过来想一想，那坚持呢？坚持有可能是一辈子的事儿哦！

难道一辈子的时间，会值得么？嗯，那要看看是什么事情了！

爱情，应该是坚持一辈子的事儿吧？？？

最近学习韩语的劲头超级的大呢，哎!

也成了我学习之余放松的一种方式了吧！还有就是吹韩风，赶韩流…… 看看韩剧之类的哦！

比较新的好像还没有变的很火的样子，所以现在还没有兴趣去看哦！

说实话，也不是没有什么情趣，是不敢放任自己去做与学习无关的事儿！真是好惨哦！

结论是，学习一定要坚持…… 考研的念头俞长，所以还是要好好学习的啊

Dear Blog,

I am back... after i got to use MSN Space... it seems that i seldom to come back to post...

i am really sorry.... although MSN space looks nice... but you are always my best... :p
i have been "wu shi mang"... exams are coming... but my heart does not allow me to calm down to focus on the study... it is being hung somewhere... does not want to go back to its original position....

i feel tired... i feel that there is something lack in my life... as i posted before... i think romatic love is the thing that is missing in my life.... after i watched " palace " and " my girl"....
they sacrificed a lot simply for LOVE... how romantic it is.... thought it is not practical... but it is just so admiring.... make people feel for them....

my feel chest pain... it is not physically painful... but just as what i described that i cannot breathe... feel hard to breathe.... i wanna sleep because then i dont have to worry about it any more... i dont know whether i am sick or not.... i feel like going out for a running.... to really sweat out and get the feelings out... i wanna shout... but i hardly find a place to shout out loud... i am afraid it would be disturbing....

yup... then i started thinking of you... coz i miss you... you have accompanied my for more than one year... close to one and half years.... i share good time with you and also my bad mood... you are always there listening... though i know that i would not be able to get an answer or comfort from you... but it does help... since you are willing to lend your ears to me to listen to all the crap... i am expecting a holiday... i want get out of singapore... i want to go and travel... i want to meet the right person... a lot of plans to contruct and to carry them out... it is a very tough period for me again.... april... i was going down to the bottom and now trying to climb up and get it over....

it is tough... just like Yulin... she was tring so hard to keep her promise to Grandpa.... she did it... though her love to Gongcan is so deep... she had to gave up... pretending to be strong... it evoked my thoughts... i dont know why i could relate... and what i could relate to... but i did feel for them.... i am a person made up of flesh... i've got emotions... feelings... demands and downs.... Interpersonal relations are just so important.... human stay in groups... one would not be able to survive.... it is true... but what i am thinking and want to say is that... emotionally... it is more important to have attachment.... or the person would not be happy.... at least to me.... i think i was too exhausted... trying so hard to catch up and dont want to be left behind... however, i realise.... the mature level is so different among the people....

i .... i dont know... i am not clear about some things... i just wanna talk... maybe... i am just at the age to differentiate all the goods and bads.... what is what i am really interested in and devote the rest of my life into it....

is bio-engineering is really my best choice? apparently... it is still a yes.... i dont know what would the answer be in the next moment i reconsider and re-examine it... i may see it differently... but i will never regret.... i need to have a hard time in academia so that i can become relatively mature in my acamedia...

seriously... my blog... i dont really know what i am trying to say.... but i follow my heart.. my guts.... coz i trust them... i believe they would lead to the stage where i will be clear... very clear....

am i really at the 2nd stage now??? ' know that i dont know'????
i guess... i do... i know that i still don know a lot of things... too many... too many.....

when will i figure it out????

Palace - to change?

i just finished watching a few episodes of "Palace"

it's so nice... it's fun... it is attractive... it is korean... and i just simply love it...

i like Caijing's cuteness... she is just so pure... Xin is so prince... ha ha... Caijing says he's got the prince syndrome... ha ha.... how Xin acts shyly in front of caijing... and the cool way he presented... to me it is all like Pretending... whereas caijing is just so natural... everybody loves her... of coz i do... she's curious... kind... understanding... a bit humpsup... ( lol... she fell in love with xin's back... ha ha... her face was just so erotic... and funny!)

anyway... the story later become quite heavy-hearted... coz ex-PIGONG MAMA wants to dominate the royal family... she was too ambitious... but she has a great son.... he 's kinda of person who looke for TRUE love...
he dont want the person he loves to be not happy... he just want to make caijing happy... though he wanted her so much... i could see... he really loves her... BUT he loves his Mum though she was too ambitious and did a lot of bad things... He SHOULDERED all by himself... he did not leave him mom or could not get the love from caijing... but he helped give back the innocence of xin... his cousin...

what touched me more in the series... is the emotional feelings... how xin started falling in love with caijing and how caijing managed to get through with all the 'attacks'.... in the end... they fell in love and really got marriied to their own wish....

sad news

too much on my shoulder

i just got a very very very very sad news...

My grandpa has just passed away last saturday...

I tried callling my parents but i could not get them at all...

i started to believe more in my guts...

my right eye lips were twitching for a few weeks before it stopped last week...
it might be a coincident...
however, if it were one, I had had a lot of this kinda of coincidents already...

i went blank... i did not know what to say to my father on the phone... he just got back from the other city where my grandpa stayed for his last few months... my mother is still there to accompany her father though he can no longer talk to her....

i tried to recall the sweet memories that i had with my grandpa... it is hard... i could not recall a lot of stories happened between us... he was a man of few words... i dont remember he has taught me any lesson by talking to me but rather by action....

i can still remember that he was riding a bicycle carrying me at the back to home... the sun was bright... the sky was clear and blue... no many clouds.... it was in a summer... it's hot.... not many people on the road coz it's near noon.... something happened on the road.... but i cannot recall what exactly happened...

my memories then continued... but not smooth... suddenly it went to the days he was very ill... he was in a military hospital... a good one... it was far from our houses.... but we went to visit him... of coz my mom and her siblings were the busiest people around me... i cannot recal the scene that he was in his room... but i clearly recall how we got there and the gate of the hospital... it was late spring and early summer... sunny... we were on a JEEP... and there was slope leading the jeep up after the gate....

then... i can remember the days we moved to SJZ... he could not walk well... hardly talk... but whenever he saw me... he would try very hard to say "you are here" to me... of coz i did not feel it was so heart-warming at that time... coz i was still young and i did understand the heart and feelings behind the simple sentence " you are here"... i could not visit him so often at that time.... i was busy with my study... i could only see him once in two weeks... however, he still liked to see me around... though i did not always accompany him... i guess it is just the feeling of presence.... i was around... he could feel me and see me...

last time i saw him.... it was the recent chinese new year... i went back home to celebrate... i got chance to see him... he looked tired... not as lively as before... still he tried to talk... though it was not clear... i remember.... i could feel that he was very happy to see me around again... yes...i only saw him twice...
1st time, i went to visit... 2nd i came back....

i could not believe that things just happened so suddenly... i could not prepare myself for this shock...
everything...
i suddenly felt the way my block auntie felt.... it was not just sadness.... it is definitely more than that....
i still could not believe that my grandpa is NOW not around any more...
hope he would stay maybe in the other world... happily... looking at us.... we will live happy and answer him....

the biggest regret is that... i dont really know him well... i think i was too naught when i was young though other people said i was very very obidient... but i am close to him.... however,...i dont really know him well...
i guess... hope i could listent to my mom more and get to know him and his stories....

Grandpa... i miss you!

restless

restless....

seriously...
after i got restless becoz of biobiz... though it was fun and worth of doing it...
i was restless...

i got recovered during the weekend by sleeping for 14 hours on saturday... it was just so cool...
i felt good...
it was so refreshing...
hee hee...

then i could not fall asleep on sunday night... i slept for 4 hrs before my first lecture... the whole day seemed okay... coz i have a lot of things to do...

then it was the day to prepare for Vanity Fair which is our bizcom projects...
i love projects where we do things together... it bonds people...

hmm.... basically i am a fun seeking and friends loving kindof personl.... lol...

btw, i went for this seminar which is meant for network marketing personels... i did not like it initially... coz i felt that it is something that i dont really like it...
honestly speaking... everything i listen to it... i felt like making a move into the network marketing business... however, there is a constant reminder calling me to stop thinking about it and keep wha i am doing...

it was story about this couple who have done extremely well in the network marketing business... i would say... they had enought money in the first place... they just needed extra income... then moved on to full time.... whereas i am different... i'm just a student with very little seaonal allowance to barely cover my daily expenses.... k... that is the point... i could be sucessful in network marketing... yet... my time has not arrived yet...

then i went back... hmm... i stayed overnight at the central forum... it was nice to spend time with friends... ha ha... haha....so i stayed till 6am... woked up @8.30... so.... 2.5 hrs...
the whole day just began with 'refreshed' face... coz i believe that the deep sleep that i had in the 2.5 hrs helped me alot ... i got restless in the middle of the day... i would say more restless....
i was okay... untill we closed our shop...

i got a call ... then i rushed off for a meeting...
it ended late... like 10pm ...
i reached my room like 11pm... i was too tired.... restless...
my eyes then just closed and when i woke up by the alarm it was already 7.45 am the next morning...

sigh... i've got so much work to do...
study...
tutorials...
i guess the 7 hrs sleep did not refresh my body and the normal metabolism... i hated it that i could not concentrate and just keep on falling asleep...
alright... i finally reached the stage that i am sitting down now and started doing something...
i feel better...

i just received a call from my friend... it was regarding the physio test... sadly speaking... i failed...
it is bad... but i would say... the marks i got are truely from the efforts i spent... i did not expect a result that surprsingly good... i am happy about it... coz i got what i deserve to get...

finally i would like to leave a conclusion...
after so many years of struggling to position myself... i would say... i will do things that i would not feel regreted...

i did not really worked on physio untill i finished my cell bio test... it was too late for physio...i did not sleep... to finish reading what i have missed out... it was not good... lack of sleep just made it a bit more difficult to retrieve the data stored... there is this lagging time... nonetheless... i indeed felt good when i was studying like what i am doing now... (not blogging but studying...)

alright... i shall move on before i spend too much time on it...

gosh...

you know what happened???

i was talking to my buddy online...while i was having my dinner...

i did not really look at my food... just use the spoon to put it into my mouth...

then i just masticate...

SUDDENLY, i stoped mastication... a strange noise came out from my mouth... a pain immediately stroke me...

it was my TEETH... becoz this ScREw found in my food!!!

i was happy with the talking to my buddy coz he has been busy far away... but then... got this kind of thing happen...

woo..........i think it is really dangerous... two thing might happen seriously:

1st, loss my tooth or teeth... gosh... that is unrepairable... NO MONEY can buy my orginial teeth back;

2nd, if i did not chew but rather swallow directly... it will cause the deglutition of the SCREW... oh gosh.. it is metal... heavy metal i assume... if i were to ingest it, it might take away my LIFE... at least i had to suffer from medication....

wew.... i was lucky... hopefully SFI could be more careful next time, K???

i am not a fussy person but it is dangerous and i had to make a complaint to the office...

what if the disastrous incident really happened to one of the resident???

it would be too late to recover the loss......i could be never recovered once it were to happen...

this reminds me of the series of Final Destination... 1 , 2 & the latest 3.... they indeed magnified the tiny minutia which probably would not cause anything to happen into a big disaster costing lifves...

Tiny things sometimes are not noticeable, but they could do big! Dont look down upon them...

otherwise, you will look down upon something that you yourself truely are....

yes... cells........... think about them... if i take just a few cells from you... do you mind???

probably, the first thing comes to your mind could be 'sure...' it just a few cells.......

hee....

you are totally WRONG... loss of a few cells might just simply cause you to loose some important functions, or the entire body's normal metabolism....... sigh...

bu then... other people just called for their cabs... sadly, they are the smart -sss... so... let them be...
i did not want to call simply becoz i was not rushing... so...just wait lor...
some more i shall not let my FILA goodies to be kept inside the cab so early... chey... sounds a bit so vain... hee hee... for fun...

PPlive 就是好啊,

给我提供了个超级大的平台来欣赏各种各样的电视,广播节目!

虽然我还算是个体育迷吧,但是看篮球和足球不是很多,所以没有怎么深入的研究体育节目!

但是,对娱乐, 电影和电视剧还是颇有些深入的研究啦!

其实假期的时候,我的电脑80%的时间都是在PPlive的连接。

好了，这就是我为什么介绍电影电视剧的原因啊……

先从娱乐节目开始吧，

一个首推当然是『康熙来了』

虽然一直重复着2005年的节目，但是总是会笑到肚皮ache。从某些angle来讲【这是跟孙燕姿大名人学来的说话方式哦】，这个节目是很好了，比如说真假程度，搞怪能力，冷汗效应，鼓吹水平吧…… 傻里傻气也有……… ★★★★

第二，我目前的最爱那莫过于韩国 KBS的搞笑娱乐节目『x－man』 and 『loveletter』

这是我学习韩语的最佳机会了吧。比如说，tanjongnaji.值得我称赞的地方是，明星参加的男女求爱节目。爆搞笑啊！可以见到往常只能在korean drama里面的定级明星，在哪里跳热舞，做可爱表情，表达爱的宣言和行动。当然了，谐星的存在使得整个节目更加的有笑点。

歌也是很好听了，我还是觉得korean的抒情歌比较有情趣，也比较有味道吧！

超好的机会哦！发现了，korean的明星，不仅有自己的名字，绰号可是工人的哦！

比方说吧，【sexy的代名词－蔡妍】【情歌王子－朴诗庆】

其他的绰号还有，【冰雪公主】【东方舞神一代】等等

我觉得挺好的啦，不过这样子的话，艺人好像不容易转型吧， hee hee……

after 4-day voluntary work @ the World of Narnia @ Orchard...

and 1 day work from OSA... i am back again...

it was really coOll to be part of the world of narnia... it was just interesting...

have exprienced the tour for a few times... ha ha... .every time i felt differently... yeah!!!

and i am back... a better cook now... i cooked eggplant today... yes... tomato and eggs as usual...

8 th December 2005... it is another sunny day...

a great day to remember...

simply becoz it is meaningful...

i dont think i had such a meaningful day for quite a long time...

what is a meaningful day to me?

simple...

busy... running around... a bit of stressed... take taxi due to running out of time...

more importantly... get things done or learn something at the end of the day...

ha ha..

that's what i meant by a meaningful day...

it was quite general... in the sense that i did not tell you exactly what i did... the reasoning behind is that... what is meaningful to me might not be useful or meaningful to other people...

so leave the facts to myself... but the lessons are to be shared...

one very important thing is that DO YOU THINGS WELL...

LANGUAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT... PLEASE BE WARE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND LEARNING...

this blog is meant for English... simply because it is an avenue where i can just force myself think, write and speak in English... i am not here to show off... i dont want to do that... because as you can see... the language here is quite simple... there is no big word... complex scentences or anything difficult...

yes... it is to make my English proficient... at least in simple terms...

i got shocked that i only got "C" for my LSM1401 CA...
it was so OFF...
did i deserved it? i guess i was too much "dont care"...
perhaps i could just have discussed with my friends a bit more... so sad...

i emailed the lecture... he told me it was due to my overall weakness over Assignment 1 & 2.
for assignment 2, i could understand... coz i was too coOl... i insisted to challenge but failed...anyway... that would not stop me challenge any further... alright?

i have to give a 300% efforts in biochem to at least earn a bit of face back to not disappoint people who cares about me... i mean it...

organic chem is just a "killer" there are so many small things to remember... i have practised quite a lot these few days... from the theory down to today's actual problem solving... i have to say...
i over expected that how chem eng people are doing in their study...
whether they are smart or not... i dont give any say... but i know... they all study...
whereas EE students... just so many slackers around...

BIE... ha ha... so far... great... everybody looks fine... we study... we play... me? need to work harder...
